Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using merchantready.org, submitting a website for review, requesting a paid report, downloading a policy template, or otherwise interacting with our service ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Notice and Disclaimer.

2. Service description

MerchantReady provides an independent readiness review of publicly available website content and self-reported business information, organized around the published checklists and rules of payment processors. We are not affiliated with Stripe, Inc. or any payment processor.

The free scan returns a basic readiness score and a short list of risks. The paid Stripe Risk Readiness Report ("Report") is a draft generated by automation and then reviewed and edited by a human editor before delivery.

3. Your responsibilities

• You will provide accurate, current information about your business and the URL you submit
• You will only submit a website that you own or are authorized to scan
• You will not use the Service to scan websites that prohibit automated access via robots.txt or terms of use, except where you are the owner
• You will not attempt to bypass rate limits, security controls, or authentication on the Service
• You will not reverse engineer, scrape, or copy proprietary content of MerchantReady for competing services
• You will not represent any output of MerchantReady as a Stripe-authorized review

4. Acceptable use

You will not use the Service to:

• Engage in or facilitate illegal activity
• Submit websites operated for fraud, illegal goods, or content prohibited by applicable law
• Probe, attack, or otherwise interfere with the integrity of the Service
• Submit personal data of others without lawful basis

We may suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these restrictions.

5. Payments

Paid reports are sold at the price listed on the pricing page effective at the time of purchase. Payment is processed by our payment provider. By placing an order you authorize us to charge the payment method you provide for the amount shown.

All prices are exclusive of any applicable taxes. You are responsible for taxes that apply in your jurisdiction.

6. Refunds

Refund eligibility is governed by our Refund Policy. In summary: a full refund is available within 7 days of purchase if the report has not yet been delivered, or if you identify a material factual error in the delivered report.

7. Intellectual property

• You retain ownership of the business information you submit and your website content
• You receive a non-exclusive, perpetual license to use the Report we deliver to you, including incorporating recommended copy into your own materials
• We retain ownership of our scoring methodology, prompts, templates, and underlying software
• Policy template files we deliver in the Policy Pack are licensed to you under a perpetual, royalty-free license for use on your own website and business operations

8. No professional advice

The Service does not provide legal, tax, accounting, financial, compliance, or other professional advice. Reports are informational. You should consult qualified professionals before making material business decisions based on a report.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages (payment, email, database, AI), or events beyond our reasonable control may cause downtime.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that following our recommendations will result in any specific outcome with Stripe or any other payment processor.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MerchantReady's aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD 100, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, account suspensions, payment processor decisions, or dispute outcomes.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your business activities, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. On termination, sections that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations, indemnification, governing law) remain in effect.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MerchantReady is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country provides otherwise.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
